About Here for the Girls

Born in Williamsburg, Virginia in 2007, Here for the Girls is a non-profit women’s health organization started by two breast cancer survivors on a mission to help meet the unique needs of young women affected by this disease.

The goal of Here for the Girls is pretty special: they aim to improve the lives of young women affected by breast cancer through a solid support network of others who intimately understand feelings of frustration, overwhelmingness, fear, and everything in between. From initial diagnosis through treatment and beyond, Here for the Girls is waiting in the wings to offer love, a shoulder to cry on, and an ear to listen.

Dr. Aboutanos has been a supporter of Here for the Girls since 2014 and is honored to work alongside such an important organization. She looks forward to leading such an important discussion.
