Dr. Sharline Aboutanos is excited to announce an upcoming virtual conversation about breast surgery and reconstruction, hosted by Here for the Girls. Dr. Aboutanos is honored to take part in this special discussion, alongside Dr. Kandace McGuire, the Chief of Breast Surgery and Surgical Leader of the Breast Health Program at VCU Massey Cancer Center.
Come learn about breast surgery and post-mastectomy reconstruction from the experts
Supported by Medarva Healthcare, Here for the Girls, and the Massey Cancer Center, this afternoon conversation will address all the questions you want to ask but are afraid to, uncover common misconceptions, and get real about the ins and outs of breast surgery and reconstruction.
As a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Aboutanos has many years of experience working with women who have survived breast cancer and hope to regain a sense of normalcy through post-lumpectomy and post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. In this talk, she hopes to offer support, insight, and guidance to women impacted by breast cancer who want to learn more about their options.
The Virtual Tea + Talk will be held via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. This virtual learning event is open to the public, and anyone impacted by breast cancer or curious about breast surgery and reconstruction are encouraged to join.
Please RSVP to email@example.com. A link to join will be emailed to you.
About Here for the Girls
Born in Williamsburg, Virginia in 2007, Here for the Girls is a non-profit women’s health organization started by two breast cancer survivors on a mission to help meet the unique needs of young women affected by this disease.
The goal of Here for the Girls is pretty special: they aim to improve the lives of young women affected by breast cancer through a solid support network of others who intimately understand feelings of frustration, overwhelmingness, fear, and everything in between. From initial diagnosis through treatment and beyond, Here for the Girls is waiting in the wings to offer love, a shoulder to cry on, and an ear to listen.
Dr. Aboutanos has been a supporter of Here for the Girls since 2014 and is honored to work alongside such an important organization. She looks forward to leading such an important discussion.
