All You Need to Know About Renuvion Skin Tightening Technology

Renuvion is a new energy device designed to contour different areas of the body using a unique combination of plasma and RF energy. If you’ve ever felt concerned about loose skin on the neck, wished for a smooth bra-line, forgone sleeveless tops because of excess skin on your arms, or felt uncomfortable in a bathing suit, this plasma technology may be of interest to you.

Renuvion can provide notable skin tightening without an invasive plastic surgery procedure. It is minimally invasive yet more effective than other non-surgical skin tightening options, making it a game-changer in the world of aesthetic treatments. I’m thrilled to be able to offer this technology to my Richmond patients.

How does Renuvion work?

Renuvion utilizes a combination of helium plasma and radiofrequency (RF) energy to contract the tissues in a gentle and effective manner, which stimulates collagen production and results in skin tightening over time. Discreetly-placed five-millimeter incisions—that is about the width of a pencil eraser—are used to introduce the Renuvion device under the skin.

It is an excellent treatment for patients with mild to moderate skin excess who do not want scars, incisions or extended downtime. Most patients recover in about two weeks, but some redness or bruising can last for about four weeks. My patients love that they see continuing improvements for months after treatment; they like how discreetly and naturally it improves areas of lax skin.

Where can Renuvion be used?

Renuvion can be used from the jawline to the calves on areas where you have noticed skin starting to become lax over time. Areas that are often treated with Renuvion include the neck, arms, bra-line, abdomen, back, flanks, and thighs. Renuvion can also simultaneously reduce small areas of fat just under the skin, leaving a smooth, taut contour.

How long does it take to see results after Renuvion treatment?

Treatment with Renuvion results in toned skin with a less creepy appearance almost immediately, but as it relies on activating your body’s own ability to remodel skin and create new collagen, your results will gradually improve over time. You are likely to see some early results seen soon after the procedure, but you can expect to see further improvements for 6-12 months as the skin remodels and deposits new collagen.

Does Renuvion hurt?

You won’t feel discomfort while having Renuvion, as we use anesthesia to ensure the procedure is relatively painless. While the procedure is minimally invasive, it does require very small incisions to insert the device under the skin, so anesthesia is important to keeping you comfortable.
